Hey everyone, it’s Leaflit! Today I’m reacting to Decoy Voice’s “How Are They Defending This??”, covering the disturbing downtown Cincinnati street brawl where a white man and woman were brutally attacked by a mob—apparently targeted solely for their skin color.

Despite graphic video showing stompings, blows, and unconscious victims, the Cincinnati Vice Mayor downplayed it as a minor “fight among adults.” That’s not just incompetent—it’s dismissive of outright racial violence.

In my reaction, I'll defend these peaceful civilians, condemn the attackers for racially-motivated violence, and call out local political leadership for minimizing it. All victims deserve justice—and actions must match outrage.

Video footage shows a white man chased, beaten, stomped on, and body-slammed by a large group. When a woman attempted to help, she was punched and knocked unconscious, bleeding in the street.

Police have charged at least five suspects, while identifying more through investigation. Police Chief Teresa Theetge condemned the violence, labeling it “cruel and absolutely unacceptable”.

The Fraternal Order of Police, led by Ken Kober, excoriated those who filmed rather than intervened or called for help, and demanded arrests.

Vice President J.D. Vance called the footage a “mob of lawless thugs beating up an innocent person,” urging full prosecution.

Despite this, Vice Mayor Jan‑Michele Kearney suggested the incident was a minor altercation among adults—minimizing the racial targeting and violence.

Racial violence must not be dismissed – When targeting appears skin-color-based, it’s not a generic fight—it’s hate-fueled.

Leadership must speak truth, not platitudes – Blurring over real violence lowers accountability and emboldens mob mentality.

Civilians don’t deserve victim shaming – These people were attacked while unarmed and peaceful. They need justice, not blame.

Community responsibility matters – Bystanders filmed instead of aiding victims—this reaction encourages moral action over spectacle.
