Hey everyone, it’s Leaflit! Today I’m reacting to Asmongold’s video “Everyone Should Know About This…”, where he exposes how massive payment processors—like Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal—have pressured Steam into removing hundreds of legally sold adult games. Instead of Valve deciding what’s allowed, these corporations are now gatekeeping what you can buy with your own money.

I strongly support Asmongold’s stance: if a game is legal, adult-rated, and consensual, it belongs on the platform. Financial censorship—not a government or Steam policy—is now dictating what’s acceptable. That’s dangerous as hell. Content creators, indie devs, and gamers should all stand up and demand policies that don’t allow private corporations to censor speech and creativity through payment pressure.

Valve confirmed this policy change was enacted after being warned by payment processors that certain games might violate their standards. As a result, games—including legal adult titles—were delisted to avoid risking payment network access.

GamesRadar quotes NieR creator Yoko Taro, who states that this is effectively “censoring another country’s free speech,” since financial intermediaries are deciding what can and cannot be sold—regardless of legality.

Industry-wide, platforms like Itch.io have followed suit—deindexing adult content overnight to maintain payment access, threatening creators working on queer, mature, or artistic themes.

Financial censorship is creeping – Visa and Mastercard shouldn’t enforce moral standards across content platforms.

Rights vs. control – If a game is legal and consensual, gatekeepers have no place dictating access.

Call to action – Viewers should support petitions, pressure Valve for internal payment options, and demand that dissenting voices remain heard.
