Barbell Box Squat
You can do body weight box squat to learn the technique before going under the bar. If the bar doesn't work out because of restriction or pain in the shoulder. DO NOT use the bar. You can use dumbbells. The most important reps are the first and last rep. Why? This is where people hurt themselves the most. They think they haven't started the set (which indeed they have) or you think you have finished (no,, you did not).Maintain good form and stability through the body from the moment you get under the bar until you rack the bar.
The stance is fairly wide. Your hip structure dictates this; you want to keep the knee on top of the ankles to the best of you ability. Find a box, step, or a bench to help you with your form. While sitting on the bench or box is fine, just don't relax. Maintain tension throughout the body.
