The connections between the security state, the intelligence community and the media are well established. In the US they call this conglomerate “the Blob”.

In 1990 the media landscape was quite different. The only channels to exist were mainstream television, radio, and newspapers.

Today mainstream news is a mix of pointless fluff and outright propaganda.

The rise of social media has restored independent journalism, and the Blob doesn’t like it!
