In the video we see that the RO system is giving off more carbon fines than the standard residual discharge at startup or new replacement filter service. Seems that the filter cartridge had a manufacturing defect or possible damage from transport, packaging or somewhere in-between. GAC filters will have the most fines but should clear up after dumping the RO tank. Carbon block filters have fines too but usually less than GAC. The concern is aesthetic to a point and could be more concerning. For example, if you were taking medications and kept ingesting carbon fines it could lower or inhibit said drug(s) affects on why they are being prescribed. Too much carbon ingestion can also have negative effects on health. Impair the functionality of the filter itself if it loses material.
