Day 238 – Judgment on the Nations: Ammon, Edom, and Babylon — Jeremiah 49–50 | Bible In A Year (CSB)

The Lord’s word stretches out to many nations—Ammon, Edom, Damascus, Elam, and even mighty Babylon. Pride, violence, and idolatry bring them low, yet God promises restoration for His people. The fall of Babylon reminds us that no power on earth can stand against the Lord forever.

Questions:
1. What does God’s judgment on surrounding nations teach us about His concern for justice on a global scale?

2. Why do you think Babylon, the great world power of its day, becomes such a central symbol of judgment in Scripture?

3. How does the promise of Israel’s restoration, set against the backdrop of judgment, point us toward the hope we have in Christ?
