Episode 9

In today's edition of Sidebar we'll be discussing overcharging. Quite often we see defendant's charged with a slew of things all out of one interaction. This usually ends in a plea where some charges are dropped and a guilty plea is entered on the others. Is this fair and just?

Also, we'll be discussing the adequacy of probation versus prison sentences. Is probation just and effective? Or would we be better off with more jail terms?
