Garden State legislators buried parental rights. Or so they think.

New Jersey’s legislators have been doing their best to destroy what’s left of parental rights. Encouraging teachers to keep secrets from parents, refusing to remove sexually explicit books from schools, separating kids from parents during mental health crises - it’s all just the beginning. Add to it crushing taxes and exorbitant energy rates, and soon the state will be uninhabitable for families. Constance Ditzel wants to change all of it, which is why she’s running for a State Assembly seat in District 5. She stopped by today to talk with Elena about her plans.

CONSTANCE DITZEL’S interest in community service began as a youth ambassador for the International Sister-City Committee representing Dayton, Ohio, followed by a scholarship to study in Luxembourg. She holds a BA degree from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.

After working in Europe for three years, Constance found her career in academic publishing. She started in Sales, and was ultimately a commissioning editor, collaborating with teachers, administrators and authors to develop textbooks. In her most recent position she contracted academic music books for the global market, resulting in leading works in World Music, African-American music, and Music Education.

Camden County has been her home base, where she raised her two children in Haddon Heights. During her work tenure in New York City and the COVID lockdown period, she was an advocate within the medical freedom movement. She now lives in Collingswood and is a representative of the Collingswood Republican Municipal Committee. Constance has become engaged with K-12 education and issues affecting our New Jersey families -- which have inspired her candidacy.

The LD5 district will be well-represented with Constance’s early cross-cultural mission, her work experience with authors and educators, and her interest in building a thriving environment for our families and local communities.
