The IMMIGRANT Governor Candidate With a Story That Makes NO SENSE…

In this reaction, I break down a recent video from Jamaican immigrant Winsome Earle-Sears, who’s running for governor of Virginia. She claims her father came to America with just $1.75 in his pocket and used that to pay for school — one of the biggest political lies I’ve ever heard. There is no way $1.75 funded an entire college education and life in America. This is a classic immigrant political tactic: exaggerating or fabricating “started from nothing” stories to relate to voters and gain sympathy. The truth is, many immigrants benefit from special housing grants, government programs, and assistance that regular Americans — especially Foundational Black Americans — do not get. Don’t sell us the “hard-luck” fairytale when the reality is your father likely had opportunities that real Americans can’t access. This is just another tether politician trying to win votes by pretending to understand our struggle. We see through it now.
