Pritzker To Trump: “Do Not Come To Chicago… If You Do, We Face A Difficult Time Ahead"
Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker made it clear: he doesn’t want President Donald Trump anywhere near Chicago — even if it means stopping the violent crime, gang shootings, carjackings, and lawlessness that have plagued the city for decades.
Pritzker declared:
“Donald Trump looked at the assembled cameras and asked for me personally to say, Mister President, can you do us the honor of protecting our city? Instead, I say, Mister President, do not come to Chicago. You are neither wanted here nor needed here.”
Of course, President Trump never actually said that line — it was Pritzker putting words in his mouth as part of a sarcastic setup before launching his attack.
How could anyone living in Chicago not want help? In too many neighborhoods, families live in fear of stray bullets, businesses are shutting down under the weight of crime, and gangs hold entire blocks hostage. Yet Pritzker’s answer to federal assistance was to sneer and slam the door in Trump’s face.
Instead of thanking Trump for offering to restore order, Pritzker chose to insult him personally:
“Your remarks about this effort over the last several weeks have betrayed a continuing slip in your mental faculties and are not fit for the auspicious office that you occupy.”
He didn’t stop there. In perhaps his most telling moment, Pritzker accused Trump of using America’s troops as “pawns”:
“Most alarming, you seem to lack any appropriate concern as our commander in chief for the members of the military that you would so callously deploy as pawns in your ever more alarming grabs for power.”
Then he added:
“I know Donald Trump doesn’t care about the well-being of the members of our military, but I do. And so do all the people standing here.”
Pritzker even claimed that Trump helping stop crime in Chicago would somehow be “dangerous.”
But the truth is clear: President Trump supports the military and is willing to use them to protect American citizens at home. Does Pritzker prefer sending our soldiers to fight endless wars overseas while Chicago families continue to face bullets in their own neighborhoods?
The reality is undeniable: Pritzker has no intention of stopping crime. Instead of confronting the gangs running his streets, he attacks Trump. Instead of fixing his own failure to keep Chicago and Illinois safe, he questions Trump’s mental fitness. Instead of protecting American lives, he turns the military into a political talking point.
Pritzker and the Democrats would rather let people get shot, be carjacked, endure armed robberies, and suffer ongoing gang violence than allow President Trump to help Make Chicago Safe Again.
As Pritzker himself warned:
“Hopefully rational voices, if there are any left inside the White House or the Pentagon, will prevail in the coming days. If not, we are going to face an unprecedented and difficult time ahead.”
But let’s be honest: only in the upside-down world of Democrat politics is getting help to end rampant crime in your city considered a “difficult time.”
