Watertown, WI - A woman is recovering at a hospital after being attacked by four dogs on Aug. 23 near Milford Street and Cobblestone Way, according to the Watertown Police Department.

Police said they responded to the scene after getting a call just before 6 a.m. The woman was out for a walk.

When officers arrived, they tried to help the woman, but the four dogs charged toward them.

Police said for their safety, an officer shot one of the dogs, which later died. The other three were seized. Police did not say whether or not they belonged to someone.

The woman suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
