In this lesson we learn that this “letter” was written to seven specific churches that existed during John’s time. In addition, we learn that this is actually a letter to the entire church from John’s day until our current day.
The seven churches represent the entire church body made up of believers, “the royal priesthood”, as the intercessors between God and man to share the gospel.

Then we learn some specific things about Jesus.
He has always existed, and nothing comes into existence that Jesus didn't make. In Jesus’s first coming, He is the faithful witness being the visual image of the invisible God. He was the first to be resurrected into a new, glorified body. Upon His return at the second coming, He will physically rule as King of kings over the whole earth in the Millennial Kingdom.

Lastly, the remaining Jews living at the time of His second coming, will suddenly realize that Jesus, who was pierced through for our transgressions, was in fact their Messiah. They will mourn for having rejected Him, then receive the Spirit and come to faith all at once.
