Parasha Shoftiym: Deuteronomy 16:18-21:9

Moses goes over the appointment of judges and their officers, as well as the blessings and the curses that will happen if we either follow God's commandments or if we don't. All Israelites were expected to know God's Instruction Manual, the Torah. Throughout Deuteronomy Moses repeats the instructions, as if to say 'you have no excuse when you break God's commandments.'
