It was designed to provide users with comprehensive information on the show's first four seasons, including storylines, characters, and official X-File cases, using text, still photos, and video clips.
The software was marketed as giving users "unrestricted access" to a classified government website, allowing them to browse dossiers, analyze evidence, and explore case files through an interactive interface.
The first CD contained installation data and a complete copy of Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4, which was required to access the hyperlinked content on the second CD.
