How to clear cache on pc windows 10&11

Speed up your Windows 10 or 11 PC by clearing cache and temporary files with easy built-in tools.

Step by step:

Press Windows + R to open the Run box.

Type prefetch and press OK, click Continue, press Ctrl + A to select all, then press Shift + Delete to remove. If some files are in use, tick Do this for all current items and choose Skip.

Press Windows + R again, type temp, press OK, press Ctrl + A, then Shift + Delete. Confirm Yes.

Press Windows + R again, type %temp%, press OK, press Ctrl + A, then Shift + Delete. If a message appears, tick Do this for all current items and choose Skip.

Press Windows + R again, type cleanmgr, press OK. Choose Drive C if needed, tick all items under Files to delete, press OK, then Delete Files to confirm.

Optional: Restart your PC to apply all changes.

Note: Shift + Delete permanently removes files and skips the Recycle Bin.
