PM-Cast: Two missing lockboxes 🔒 in one week… and now I’m down to ONE 🔑 key 😳

Welcome to another long day in property management, where nothing ever goes quite as planned.

This week has been wild: not one, but two properties with missing lockboxes after showings. It happens occasionally, but twice in a week? That’s pushing it. When lockboxes disappear, it creates a chain reaction of problems:

🔒 Tenant tours can’t happen as scheduled

🔑 Keys need to be replaced or rekeyed for security

⏳ Extra time and cost for the property manager and homeowner

On top of that, I had to prepare a home for tenant move-in—making sure it’s ready, safe, and compliant. But here’s the kicker: I realized I only had one key left for future tours. That means another trip to get duplicate keys made now and a full rekey later for proper security.

💡 This is the reality of property management:
✔️ One moment you’re marketing a home
✔️ Next, you’re dealing with missing lockboxes
✔️ Then you’re managing security, prepping for move-ins, and coordinating with vendors

The struggle is real sometimes… but that’s why property managers have to be flexible, resourceful, and relentless.
