Day 236 – Choosing Egypt Over God — Jeremiah 43–45 | Bible In A Year (CSB)

Instead of trusting the Lord’s warning, the people flee to Egypt, dragging Jeremiah with them. There, God declares judgment will still find them. Yet in the midst of rebellion and judgment, He offers a word of encouragement to Baruch, Jeremiah’s faithful scribe.

Questions:
1. What does the people’s flight to Egypt reveal about the human tendency to seek control rather than surrender to God?

2. How does God’s message to Baruch remind us of His care for individuals even in times of national judgment?

3. In what ways do we today look for our own “Egypts” instead of trusting God’s word, and how can we guard against that?
