Energiya-Buran first flight was on November 15, 1988

📆 On November 15, 1988, the first flight of the reusable space system Energiya-Buran took place. The rocket launch and the spacecraft's insertion into the planned orbit proceeded as usual. After orbiting the Earth twice, "Buran" landed in fully automatic mode. A very large technological program born at the wrong time in the wrong place, considering that the Soviet empire was already in its final days.
