Who's Really in Charge Here?

Have you ever heard a teenager defiantly tell their parents, "You're not the boss of me!"? Or watched employees challenge their supervisor at work? We see people questioning authority everywhere today—in politics, at work, in families, and even in churches. But this isn't anything new.

The Same Old Question

About 2,000 years ago, religious leaders asked Jesus basically the same question: "Who put you in charge?" Pastor Rick Brown explores this timeless struggle with authority in Luke 20:1-19, showing us that this rebellious attitude goes all the way back to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

* Humble ourselves under God's loving authority, or
* Keep insisting, "You're not the boss of me!”

The Bottom Line
As Pastor Rick reminds us, Jesus compared himself to a stone that builders rejected—but that rejected stone became the cornerstone of the entire building. Jesus has authority whether we like it or not. The real question isn't whether he's in charge, but whether we'll align ourselves with that reality or keep fighting against it.
The choice is ours, but the authority remains his.
