The Flatiron District spans approximately from 20th Street to 26th Street,
6th Avenue to Lexington Avenue with Madison Park in the center of it.

The Flatiron District in New York City is named after the iconic Flatiron Building, which resembles a clothing iron. The building's triangular shape and location at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Broadway led to the nickname, which eventually became the name of the surrounding neighborhood.

Initially, the area was a mix of commercial and residential buildings, including the Ladies' Mile shopping district. It later became known as the Toy District and then the Photo District before evolving into a vibrant area with a mix of commercial, residential, and tech businesses.
