Back at a property today to do a security check after a few self-guided tours. The last time I was here, the burglar alarm went off—but this time I came prepared with the code. ✅

Here’s what we do during these checks to keep vacant rentals safe and ready:

🗝️ Make sure the keys are still in place and accounted for

💡 Confirm all lights are turned off

🚪 Double-check that the doors are locked and secured

🔢 Change the lockbox combination for added security

These steps may seem small, but they’re crucial for protecting the homeowner’s property, avoiding liability, and ensuring the house is secure until the next tenant is found.

💡 In property management, vacant homes are vulnerable. Burglar alarms, self-guided tours, and changing lockbox codes are all part of the system to keep everything under control while still allowing the property to be shown.
