Mike & James discuss their observations from their attendance at two recent events in Edmonton centred around the growing Alberta independence movement: the August 12th presentation by the Alberta Prosperity Project and the August 14th AlbertaNext panel hosted by Danielle Smith.

We compare and contrast the demographics of the two events, the differences in the levels of heightened emotion vs. calm reason we've seen between members of the two competing ideologies on the major points of debate (pension, equalization, immigration), and conclude the discussion with some broader, more generalized explorations of what we believe the role and behaviour of any responsible government should be.
