Directed by Herschell Gordon Lewis, is a vampire horror film often dubbed “the gorefather’s answer to Dracula.” It follows John Stone, a businessman who inherits two bottles of brandy from a distant relative. After drinking them, he transforms into a vampire, carrying out a bloody mission of revenge on the descendants of those who destroyed Count Dracula. Slow-burning but punctuated with gruesome murders, it’s Lewis’s attempt at a more traditional gothic horror story, though still laced with his trademark exploitation edge.
