Do not get a CT scan

🚫 Why I Said “No” to a CT Scan — And You Might Want to, Too

Before you roll your eyes, hear me out.

CT scans are powerful tools. They’ve saved lives. But they also come with risks that most people never hear about until it’s too late. Radiation exposure, contrast dye reactions, and the slippery slope of overdiagnosis — these aren’t just medical jargon. They’re real concerns.

🔍 Did you know a single CT scan can expose you to hundreds of times more radiation than a standard X-ray? And if your doctor can’t tell you how many millisieverts you’re getting, maybe it’s time to pause and ask why.

💡 I’m not anti-medicine. I’m pro-informed choice. If you’re in an emergency, get the scan. But if it’s “just in case,” ask questions. Demand clarity. Your body isn’t a test dummy.

Let’s stop treating medical imaging like a routine errand. It’s not. It’s a decision with consequences.

👊 Stay curious. Stay empowered. And don’t be afraid to say “not yet” when the system says “now.”
