1 Thessalonians - Chapter 1 Summary:

1 Thessalonians chapter 1 opens Paul’s letter with thanksgiving and encouragement to the church in Thessalonica. Paul, along with Silas and Timothy, commends the believers for their steadfast faith, love, and hope in Jesus Christ. He reminds them that the gospel came not only in words but also in power, the Holy Spirit, and deep conviction, which transformed their lives. Despite facing persecution, they received the message with joy and became an example to believers throughout Macedonia and Achaia. Their faith in God became so well-known that Paul did not need to speak about it, as others testified how the Thessalonians turned from idols to serve the living and true God and now wait expectantly for Jesus, God’s Son, who was raised from the dead and rescues them from the coming wrath.
