Picking stuff up off the floor like this is a Romanian Dead Lift or Straight'ish leg dead lift. This is stuff we do around our house. Maybe not a 100 pounds but we do it. Picking up a bag of dog food or chicken fed, etc. You get the idea. You work your way up to this weight. Otherwise, you will hurt yourself. There needs to be tension and bracing of muscles (legs, core, upper back and glutes. Yeah, the whole body) to begin picking up heavy weight.
