Solved! Garrett Vortex Won’t Charge and Won’t Turn On.

I Thought My Vortex Was Dead for Good… Then This Worked.

My Garrett Vortex metal detector went completely dead after I tried to update it. It wouldn’t charge, wouldn’t turn on, and I thought it was bricked for good. I even called Garrett customer service (who were awesome, by the way), and they gave me a ticket number to mail it in.

But before I sent it off, they suggested something simple. Once completed, I plugged my “dead” detector back in. To my surprise, it recognized it recognized the detector, updated the it, and now it works perfectly!

If your Garrett Vortex won’t charge, won’t turn on, or looks dead after an update, try this fix before you panic. Hopefully this saves someone else the frustration I went through.
