Pramila Jayapal And Rick Steves Lament That Democrats Can No Longer Rob Americans To Fund NPR & PBS

Posted • August 22, 2025: Democrat Pramila Jayapal and multi-millionaire travel writer Rick Steves recently lamented that they can no longer steal money from American taxpayers to keep NPR and PBS on the air. Steves claims Democrats only need to confiscate $1.60 a year from each American to keep the Democrat Party’s propaganda arms broadcasting partisan slop. Have a listen. That’s $1.60 too much. There is no reason at all for government funded media. It’s a propaganda tool. I get more out of 1 Snickers bar than I have in a lifetime from public radio. 💥😎 And unlike NPR and PBS, Snickers really satisfies. Commenters are still celebrating the defunding of the two partisan broadcasters. Both had plenty of time to abandon being the mouthpieces of the Democrat Party, but refused to change. NPR and PBS weren't capable of producing unbiased content, so they deserved to be defunded. If only they had some kind of warning that ideological bias would put that federal funding in jeopardy if they didn’t meaningfully address it…

I don’t need to pay for leftist propaganda. They can put out all of the propaganda they want to as long as they pay for it. American citizens should not be paying for media who works against us. Yep, let Democrats pay for their own media. Posters were tired of paying for media that undermined their way of life and sneered at their beliefs. —— Colossal waste of money to give to people who despise this country. —— Witch, it was cut because it was nothing but a mouthpiece for commie Democrat propaganda that Americans shouldn't be forced to fund! MAGA will miss neither if one or both go under. Posters correctly point out that a loss of funds would make any rational business prioritize and make changes to bring in much-needed money. NPR and PBS are not rational. Such a small cut should allow any company to right size / make choices and go forward…. Just like any other company. Move on…

That's not very much money. So, they should easily be able to make up the difference through private funding. Say, one out of every ten Americans gave $16 a year because they like it and want it. GoFundMe can make it happen. Right? There are roughly 347 million Americans. Not all states require voters to register with a party. Those that do show there are at least 45 million registered Democrats. Based on these numbers, if Democrats wanted to continue funding NPR and PBS, it would cost them roughly $12.30 a year. It’s time to pony up, Dems!
