As someone who understands digital technology thoroughly, from the logic gates of the microprocessor to the highest level of programming language, I assert that consciousness cannot and will never spontaneously -- magically -- arise somewhere within the circuits of a machine. That so many can entertain this fantasy is a chilling measurement of the degree to which the mass of humanity has been demoralized and disconnected from reality by mass psychological manipulation.
