Bird strike during takeoff by Boeing 787-8

During the takeoff of a Boeing 787-8 at Manchester Airport, United Kingdom, an unexpected incident occurred.

Just before liftoff, when the plane had reached the necessary speed, a bird flew into one of its engines. You can see this moment in the video.

Despite the emergency situation, the crew decided not to return to the departure airport and continued the flight as planned. In my opinion, this decision was quite risky, considering that a long transatlantic flight was ahead—the airliner was heading to Cape Verde, which is about six hours in the air. Nevertheless, everything ended well and the plane successfully landed at its destination.
