Choqolaqa is a fascinating geological formation featuring giant ashlar rock formations.
The unique shapes resembling animals, structures, and figures. Located at 4800 meters above sea level, this ancient wonder is
located in the town center of Cota Cota in the district of Tisco, province of Caylloma, Arequipa region, in Peruvian territory.

The formations at Choqolaqa resemble condors, elephants, seals, and other animals, streets, avenues, castles, and other architectural forms, women, angels, and other human-like shapes.

The ancient settlers say that the Stone Forests were prosperous cities with monumental buildings, squares, cathedrals and avenues. One day its inhabitants stopped respecting the apus and as punishment for the population, the cities turned to stone.
