It’s hard sometimes to see the beauty of the moment or as the old idiom goes "can't see the forest for the trees". It is often used to describe a situation where someone is so focused on the details that they lose sight of the overall picture. This metaphor compares an inability to see a situation as a whole due to focusing too much on the details. That is where we find ourselves now and watching those around us getting caught up in illusions and noise.
