MSNBC: Trump’s DOJ Is The “Most Egregious Politicization & Weaponization Of DOJ In History”

On MSDNC, Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) said:

“This is the most egregious politicization and weaponization of the Department of Justice that I can recall in history. I do not wanna hear a single Republican say that Democrats did this before. This is payback. That is hogwash. It’s absolute bogus. This is disgusting. They are manufacturing allegations that clearly are bogus and have no basis. And he is doing it in such an openly politicized way that the Department of Justice is not supposed to do. That is the legacy of the Department of Justice that is being destroyed by Pam Bondi and Todd Blanche right now.”

Goldman went further, urging Democrats to abandon restraint, declaring it’s time to “fight fire with fire.”

But Goldman’s outrage is pure projection — because Biden’s DOJ weaponized power against conservatives:

🔷January 6th Defendants: Many nonviolent protestors — some charged only with trespassing or “parading” in the Capitol — were held in pretrial detention for months and hit with heavy sentences. Meanwhile, countless left-wing rioters from the 2020 BLM and Antifa unrest, which caused billions in damage and dozens of deaths, had charges quietly dropped or were never prosecuted.

🔷Pro-Life Advocates: The Biden DOJ used the FACE Act to unleash SWAT-style raids on peaceful pro-life activists. In one case, agents with rifles arrested Mark Houck, a father of seven, in front of his children over a minor sidewalk altercation outside an abortion clinic — a jury later acquitted him.

🔷Catholics: Internal FBI documents exposed a plan to monitor and infiltrate “Radical Traditionalist Catholic” parishes, branding ordinary worshippers as potential “domestic extremists.” The memo even suggested recruiting church informants — criminalizing faith under the guise of security.

🔷Parents at School Boards: After parents began speaking out against mask mandates, CRT, and radical gender policies, the DOJ partnered with the National School Boards Association, which infamously compared parents to “domestic terrorists.” Within days, Merrick Garland ordered the FBI to investigate these parents — turning federal law enforcement on concerned moms and dads.

🔷Censorship Pressure: Federal agencies pressured Big Tech to silence dissent. The FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force met regularly with Twitter and Facebook, sending lists of posts and accounts to be removed. DHS’s CISA also coordinated with platforms to monitor election and COVID “misinformation.” A federal judge ruled this likely violated the First Amendment, calling it “arguably the most massive attack against free speech in United States history.”

🔷Project Veritas Raid: The DOJ carried out aggressive raids on journalists tied to Project Veritas, seizing phones and computers under gag orders. The case was linked to Ashley Biden’s diary, but critics said it was pure political retaliation meant to silence investigative reporting.

🔷Trump Himself: Democrats openly campaigned on prosecuting Trump. New York AG Letitia James ran for office promising to “get Trump” before any charges even existed — proof of prosecution by political mandate, not by law.

So when Goldman rants that Trump’s DOJ is “the most egregious politicization and weaponization of the DOJ in history,” he isn’t describing Trump at all — he’s describing Democrats.
