My wife has a rare condition that is called Parosmia.
Phantosmia isn’t very common. When it comes to disorders that affect your sense of smell, phantosmia makes up 10% to 20% of cases.
Parosmia is a disorder in which the odors of certain things are distorted. It often makes things smell bad or even disgusting. For example, when you sniff a banana, instead of a fruity and pleasant aroma, it might smell like rotting flesh.
You get parosmia when smell receptor cells in your nose, called olfactory sensory neurons, don’t detect odors and translate them to your brain the way they should. It is a condition that causes you to detect smells that aren’t actually present in your environment (phantom smells). These odors may be pleasant or unpleasant, occasional or constant. Phantosmia can affect one or both nostrils. In most cases, phantosmia isn’t a cause for concern and will go away in time.

We have been fighting with the neighbor for years about them smoking pot on thier front deck and have asked them several time to please smoke inside as the law requires. A few weeks ago with the help of the landlord we came to so called "agreement". They would smoke on their back deck even though that is not according to Oregon law either. On the 13th I was outside working on my shed and the stink was horrible. My wife can't take it. It's not like the pot I use to smoke, it's a skunk smell times 1000. I confronted her and after the confrontation her husband came home and stormed over to me with his phone in hand recording. I told him to not come any further and pulled my .40 call. He kept coming so I picked up my phone and thought I was recording. I didn't hit the record button. As soon as he got into my face he slapped my phone out of my hand. So hard it went flying 20 ft from me. I put the .40 cal down and was going to dogleg him. At that point the police arrived. He had called them on me!!! He backed of fortunately and walked away. After the police interviewed everyone I asked for the footage off his phone and went and applied for a release. I still haven't received the footage but was promised it soon. I have been a videographer for over 25 years. I know it doesn't take 10 mins to transfer footage from a file to a cd. Stay tuned...
Note: As you can hear in the audio I still have a problem with the nerve damage from the throat surgery from over a year ago. This is the reason I can't call into any podcast. Hopefully soon it will go away. Thanks fam for standing by us and supporting us with your prayers. ML
