Don’t trust AI blindly… otherwise you might cry like that 😬 | Travel story | The Dal Chawal

A Spanish influencer, Mery Caldass, was traveling with her boyfriend to Puerto Rico — a Caribbean island that’s part of the US. Everything was set, but the moment they reached the airport, their hearts broke. 🥺

They missed their flight. Mery even broke down crying right there. 😭

Reason? To enter Puerto Rico, they needed a document similar to a visa, but they had no clue. Why? Because they had trusted ChatGPT blindly. 😩

Before planning the trip, Mery had asked ChatGPT: “Do Spanish citizens need a visa for Puerto Rico?”
AI replied: “No visa required.” And she believed it. She didn’t cross-check, didn’t verify from any human, and that shortcut cost them heavily. 😖

The truth is — Spanish citizens don’t need a visa for Puerto Rico, but they do need to register through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). 🫤

If only Mery had checked government or official sites, she would have easily known this. 🙁

Anyway, her crying-at-the-airport video went viral on TikTok. In another video, she humorously said while crying: “Sometimes I call ChatGPT useless. Maybe this was its revenge on me.” 😂

Her boyfriend, Alejandro Cid, can be seen comforting her in the video.

In the end, the couple somehow managed to reach Puerto Rico and attended their favorite artist Bad Bunny’s concert.

The internet’s reactions to this whole fiasco were pretty mixed. 😅

So the lesson? AI is only as smart as its users.

And this raises the bigger question — How accurate are these AI chatbots, really?

We’ve seen many stories: some users claim ChatGPT diagnosed their long-standing health issues in seconds, while others fell sick after blindly following its advice. Clearly, it has helped people, but also harmed some. 🙂

At the end of the day — AI is only as intelligent as the questions you ask it.
Ask smartly, and you may just get the right answers.

👉 Share this with your friends who trust AI models like ChatGPT with their eyes closed. 😝
