China's Xi visits Tibet, marks 60th year as Chinese autonomous region

China’s President Xi Jinping made a rare visit to Tibet as it marked its 60th year as a Chinese autonomous region on Thursday (August 21) with festivities, including a parade, at a massive square by the Potala Palace, the former winter residence of the exiled Dalai Lama.
