Set 80 years after the events of the first season, Fallout 2 expands the post-apocalyptic universe with a darker, more ambitious narrative fraught with moral dilemmas. The story follows The Chosen One, a direct descendant of the legendary Vault Dweller, who lives in the tribal village of Arroyo, a settlement agonizing over drought and lack of resources.
When the community faces extinction, The Chosen One is tasked with finding the mythical GECK (Garden of Eden Creation Kit), an artifact capable of restoring life to the wasteland. However, his journey through the Wasteland will pit him against a network of constantly conflicting factions, from the New California Republic, seeking to consolidate power, to The Enclave, a secret organization attempting to restore the old American government through brutal and authoritarian methods.
