Nicolle Wallace said:

“A veritable litany of lies can be found in those comments. The 2020 election was not rigged, Donald Trump lost, and many, many other countries also have mail-in voting. The comments are also a really important and revealing look at just how much sway Putin has with Trump, just how imprinted every word he says becomes on Donald Trump’s mind. He seemed to recite exactly what Putin said. Putin is clearly looking to Donald Trump and using this misinformation as a tool to sow chaos here in the United States ahead of our next election. So not only is Donald Trump taking election advice from an autocrat who won 88% of the vote in whatever Russia calls an election. He’s repeating those lies and undermining a method of voting that helped him win the presidential election in November...”

Stephen Richer — the former Maricopa County Recorder in Arizona and now a Senior Fellow at Harvard University’s American Democracy program — doubled down:

“...I’ve been coming on the show for four years and I’ll say what I’ve always said, which was the 2020 election wasn’t stolen. Mail-in voting is not rife with fraud. The 2024 election had mail-in voting and the 2024 election wasn’t stolen and Donald Trump won it. So I don’t know why he’s talking about this now, other than I guess Putin talked to him...”

According to MSNBC, Trump’s 2024 win proves America’s elections were flawless. But that ignores the bigger picture: Trump won by an overwhelming margin, and key vulnerabilities were addressed after the chaos of 2020. Claiming this means mail-in voting carries no risks and our elections are completely secure is pure spin.

The security of elections isn’t about rhetoric — it’s about how votes are actually handled. Unlike in-person voting, where ballots go straight into a secure box under official supervision, mail-in ballots leave election custody for days or even weeks. Once they’re sitting in mailboxes, drop boxes, or in the hands of others, there’s no way to guarantee who actually filled them out or whether they were delivered securely.

This is where ballot harvesting comes in. Ballot harvesting (or “ballot collection”) allows third parties — often political operatives — to collect and deliver completed mail-in ballots in bulk. Supporters say it helps elderly or disabled voters. But it also creates opportunities for coercion, tampering, or ballots simply disappearing, since there’s no official chain of custody.

Outdated voter rolls add more problems, with ballots being mailed to people who have moved or even died — creating openings for misuse. Weak or inconsistent voter ID laws make it difficult to ensure the ballot really belongs to the person who cast it. These vulnerabilities also open the door for non-citizens or other ineligible individuals to cast ballots without detection. And when counting drags on for days, totals keep changing long after Election Day, fueling mistrust because results appear to shift behind closed doors. On top of that, Big Tech and the corporate media interfere with fair reporting by censoring stories about election irregularities, ignoring illegal voting, suppressing evidence, and labeling any criticism as ‘misinformation.’ When watchdogs are silenced and important facts are hidden, public trust only erodes further.”

And here’s the irony MSNBC will never admit: they accuse Trump of parroting Putin, but it’s actually them who look like they’re being played. Putin just sits back while America’s media insists the system is flawless, ignores obvious vulnerabilities, and calls anyone who questions it a liar.
