Rick Hill joins Vanessa and talks about his life “50 years later” after he’d been given a death sentence by the Mayo Clinic. Rick tells what that day was like when he was told he had cancer and that he wasn’t going to survive it.

He had stage 3 cancer, underwent 8 hours of surgery – because there were no scans in 1974 when he was diagnosed. The surgery started at his sternum and removed organs, lymph nodes and did testing. When he came to a couple days later he was told he had cancer throughout his body – from neck to feet. He was sewn up, offered chemo and said his prognosis wasn’t good. He was 24 years old, had been married for one year and had a child on the way.

He asked God, “why me?” Then he decided to fight back. Your story is inspirational and shows the power of God’s plan and how he fought hard. Rick went to Mexico for treatment and is here today to tell the story!
