We also discussed domestic challenges, notably the riotous demonstration engaged in by the kind of people who are supporting Zoran Mondani as the next mayor of New York, and what that portends for the city and our nation.

I spoke with Sergio Dela Peña about the extraordinary election that has just taken place in Bolivia, the prospects for a course correction from the Marxist left to a center-right government, and an opportunity for the United States to once again establish an important relationship with the people of Bolivia. We also discussed other challenges in the region, notably the Chinese presence in it, and the dispatch of the USS Gerald Ford, which was sent to the Caribbean as a sort of warning, as it were, to Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela.
