Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence | Ancient Hymn Reborn in Christian Metal
⚔️ Let all mortal flesh keep silence, and with fear and trembling stand.
This ancient hymn doesn't begin with us, it begins in Heaven.
Drawn from the 4th-century Liturgy of Saint James, Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence is a cry of awe before the Incarnation, when Christ our God descends to earth veiled in flesh and becomes present in the Eucharist. But it is also a vision of the heavenly liturgy. Before the Lamb appears, the six-winged seraphim cover their faces, the cherubim fall silent, and all of creation stands still.
"At His feet the six-winged seraph,
Cherubim with sleepless eye,
Veil their faces to the Presence,
As with ceaseless voice they cry:
Holy, holy, holy Lord."
This version reimagines that reverent terror in Christian metal, not to distort the hymn, but to let it roar. Guitars thunder like the throne room shaking. Choirs echo like wings in flight. Every note is charged with sacred fire. This is not soft worship. This is holy fear.
This is the main version of the release: grounded, weighty, and unyielding. The silence of mortal flesh gives way to the sound of reverence made metal.
The hymn invites no applause. No stage. No spotlight.
It commands silence. Reverence. Kneeling before glory.
This version retains the sacred weight but with fire and thunder.
Every note is a collision between heaven and earth.
This song reminds us:
The presence of God is not casual, it's terrifying beauty.
And when He draws near, even angels hide their faces.
