Trigonometric ratios are the ratios of the lengths of the sides of a right-angled triangle. These ratios relate the sides of the triangle to its acute angles. The three primary trigonometric ratios are sine, cosine, and tangent. There are also three reciprocal ratios: cosecant, secant, and cotangent.
The Six Ratios
For a given acute angle \theta (theta) in a right-angled triangle, the sides are defined as:
* Opposite: The side across from the angle \theta.
* Adjacent: The side next to the angle \theta that is not the hypotenuse.
* Hypotenuse: The longest side, which is opposite the right angle.
