📝Fighting around Aleshki and strikes on Kherson - analysis by Rybar📝
Russian military forces are engaging in offensive operations on the right bank of the Dnieper river and within the island zone. These operations have also targeted elements of the energy infrastructure.
By the close of July, the Russian Armed Forces had successfully expelled the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the technological structures of the railway bridge near Aleshki. In August, the Russian military initiated a series of strikes on the bridge connecting Korabel Island with the rest of the occupied Kherson.
For a more thorough examination of the situation, please refer to the following sources:
By July 30, military forces had successfully repelled the insurgents and taken control of the technological structures in the southern part of the destroyed railway bridge near Aleshki. This development followed several months of armed conflict.
In early August, the Russian Aerospace Forces initiated a series of attacks on Ukrainian positions on Korabel Island and the bridge leading to the island. In the following three weeks, Su-34 bombers executed a total of nine strikes on the bridge, employing a variety of munitions, including FAB-3000 aviation bombs. Nevertheless, the efforts to demolish the object proved unsuccessful.
Recent reports indicate that the Russian Armed Forces have initiated the deployment of unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with fiber optic control systems on autotransformers at substations within the occupied city of Kherson. This strategic initiative has reportedly resulted in the destruction of over five such structures. Due to the implementation of a stable channel, operators were able to commence direct entry into the machine room of the Kherson CHP.
In early August, the Ukrainian Armed Forces made several attempts to transfer personnel to the left bank of the Dnieper. However, these were "one-way trips" that cost the enemy only a confirmed several dozen units of manpower.
At the same time, the Kherson direction remains of secondary importance when viewed in the context of the ongoing hostilities in the Donbass, resulting in a comparatively lower intensity of conflict in that region.
