The newest Boeing B-777X spreads its wings!

The new B-777X family features a unique folding high-aspect-ratio wing.
When designing the aircraft, engineers created a composite wing that was lengthened by 7 meters compared to the previous generation B-777. This wing provided high fuel efficiency but drastically reduced the number of airports that could accommodate such an aircraft.
To ensure compatibility with existing airport infrastructure, the wing was made foldable.
When unfolded, the wingspan is 71.8 m, and when folded, 64.8 m.
Such a solution had never been used before in commercial aviation, although it is common in military aviation.
