The lengths they go to keep Mike isolated, yet making him think they support him, is an indication of the level of manipulation and deception he’s been dealing with. When people who claim to support Mike for years turn on him in an instant, it shows they never were real supporters to begin with. They just may have come into his life with their own agenda.
