How is engine washing done?

✈️ Planes fly over hot deserts and arctic snows, cut through clouds, and land in the tropics. During the flight, tiny particles get inside the engines — dust, salt crystals from sea air, or traces of winter de-icing agents.

Therefore, engine washing is a necessary stage of the multi-step and meticulous preparation of the aircraft, at every stage of which ensuring flight reliability is our priority.

✔️ For cleaning, our technicians use special equipment. Under strict control, the engine is started in “cold rotation” mode — without fuel supply. Then a mild detergent is carefully poured into its compressor, followed by water. The liquid passes through the gas-air path, rotating together with the compressor and washing out all the unwanted substances, then it is blown out from the engine’s nozzle section.

After mandatory drying and parameter checks, the engine is ready to fly again.
The work is carried out outdoors at temperatures not below -5°C.
