Easy tasty crispy spicy fried chicken burger/sandwich recipe.
For Chicken Marinade
4 boneless chicken thigh
½ tsp each Salt and pepper
½ tsp Garlic powder
½ Paprika powder
1 tsp Crushed chillies
2-3 tbsp Hot sauce ( Sriracha or choice of hot chilli sauce to taste )
1 cup Buttermilk ( or 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp lemon juice )
Coating Flour
1 cup Plain flour ( all-purpose flour )
½ tsp each Salt & pepper
1 tsp Garlic powder
1 tsp paprika powder
For Coleslaw
Salad Onion
Cabbage
Carrot
Mayo
Dijon Mustard
Salt & pepper
Lemon Juice
Cheese slices
Oil for frying
Burger Buns 4
Butter for toasting buns
Instructions
Trim off excess fat and marinate chicken thighs with ingredients listed above. Cover and let it sit for at least 1 hour or overnight in fridge for best flavor.
In a separate bowl, mix flour with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Dredge the marinated chicken in the seasoned flour, pressing firmly and coat well. Toss excess flour out.
Heat oil to 170-180°C (340-350°F) and fry the chicken for 6-7 minutes, or until golden, crispy, and cooked through.
For the coleslaw, mix shredded vegetables with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
Toast the burger buns with melted butter until golden. Spread a little mayo on the top bun, then assemble your burger with a layer of coleslaw, the crispy fried chicken, and a slice of cheese.
Note: Frying time may vary depending on the thickness of the chicken.
