On August 14, 2025, Rhode Island Special Assistant Attorney General Devon Hogan Flanagan was arrested at the Clarke Cooke House in Newport after allegedly refusing to leave the premises. Body camera footage shows Flanagan, who repeatedly shouted “I’m an AG” and demanded officers turn off their cameras, being charged with willful trespass. Her companion, Veronica Hannan, faced additional charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The incident, which drew public attention due to Flanagan's position, is under review by the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office.
