Australia To RECOGNIZE State Of PALESTINE at UN Next Month

Tens of thousands of demonstrators have marched across the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia, calling for peace and aid deliveries in the war-ravaged Gaza Strip, where a humanitarian crisis of man-made starvation and genocide, has been worsening as a result of Israel's punishing blockade.

Pro-Palestinian protesters braved heavy winds and rain on Sunday to march across the bridge, chanting "Ceasefire Now" and "Free Palestine." Some of those attending the march, which the organizers dubbed the "March for Humanity," carried pots and pans as symbols of the forced starvation wracking Gaza.

UN chief Antonio Gueterres has joined a number of world leaders in condemning an Israeli strike that murdered Al Jazeera journalists working in Gaza.

Guterres called for an "independent and impartial" investigation into the incident, noting that more than 240 journalists have been murdered in Gaza since the genocide began.

Meanwhile, Australia has been preparing to recognize a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly in September, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said.

This follows similar moves from other European controlled nations, including France and the United Kingdom, and has drawn criticism from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who warned the "shameful" plans would bring war.
