History Medieval JERUSALEM & Movie "Kingdom of Heaven"

On Traveling Through History, we take a deep dive into the medieval years of 1180 to 1187 AD in the Kingdom of Jerusalem, as Christians and Muslims continued to battle each other over the world's most contested city. Jerusalem is a holy site for all three Abrahamic religions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam, and therefore for thousands of years armies have formed around their faith and desire to take Jerusalem for their cause.

We also take a critical look at one of my favorite movies, "Kingdom of Heaven" - a truly remarkable piece, with great writing and acting, as well as visual effects and battles scenes. We review what was historically accurate in the film, and what was taken as theatrical license. We also look at the real history of the characters in the film and set them in this medieval time in history in the Kingdom of Jerusalem, and we look at the critical battles of the time.

We take a look at several clips from the movie and discuss the impact of these scenes.
